Food Pantry

The Community Food Pantry of Sleepy Hollow and Tarrytown provides healthy groceries to those in need in Tarrytown and Sleepy Hollow. Founded in 2009 as a community collaboration, it is housed at Christ Church San Marcos. Many of the pantry’s volunteers are members of the parish, and a parish member is always on the board. Suzan Ryan is the current board representative.

In 2022, an average of 400 households were served per distribution, representing more than 2,000 individuals.  Distributions are the second and fourth Thursday of each month, from 8:15 to 10:30 AM and from 6 to 7 PM.  A weekly satellite pantry at Sleepy Hollow High School is also supported by the Community Food Pantry. .

The Pantry has no paid staff. Volunteers order food, bag groceries, participate in distributions, maintain stock, handle registration, communications, fundraising and finances. The Pantry is financially supported by individuals and grants, including community groups, churches, and synagogues. New volunteers are always welcomed.
